National Park System (EXAMPLE)

I used the feature for "auto tours" to guide my search of parks.

I chose Mount Rainier National Park (MRNP) because I have heard of it, and seen photographs before. MRNP is known for the 14,410 foot active volcano, but the land surrounding provides many of the views that make this park special. There is fishing, and the park does not have a limit on the catch number from lakes because the fish are not native to the area. The climbing in this park requires premits due to the difficulty and equipment. September would be the best time to visit since the winter weather is not yet a factor, but crowds are smaller due to school schedules. I think this location is nationally protected because ...

I chose Arches National Park because the photos were very interesting. Arches is open 24 hours a day which makes this the ideal stop on a road trip. Whenever it is convenient for you is the best time to visit. The high visibility of the protected sandstone over many acres makes this nationally protected feature accessible to many different people. This area of the country has been a part of cultures for over 10,000 years and is discussed in the opprotunities at this park. I think Arches is nationally protected because...


I chose Acadia National Park because it is located in Maine, a state I have never visited. The features of this park include over 120 miles of historical hiking trails that have existed since the 1800's and Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse which is the private home of the active Coast Guard unit Commander. The best time of year to visit this location would be in late May or early June. Much of the Park is restricted during the winter weather, and the outer parts of the park seem to be the most interesting. I think this land is nationally protected because ....
